| Job Description: |
Supervises day-to-day activities of one or more fire/EMS companies; participates in the planning, direction and coordination of companies and/or program activities; performs related tasks; reports to a Fire Captain, Deputy Fire Chief or Fire Marshal as per Standard Operating Procedures.
Starting salary is $60,638, with the ability to progress to $63,064, plus paramedic and education bonus. Excellent benefits.

| Job Requirements: |
Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must have a minimum of five years full-time experience in fire suppression and emergency medical services. Must possess and provide copies of the following required current certifications: Level II Firefighter by the State of Ohio, EMT- Paramedic by the State of Ohio, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider by the State of Ohio, Hazardous Materials Operations and NIMS IS-100, IS-200 and IS-700 training certificates. Associate degree in Fire Science and Ohio CPR instructor is preferred.
The position of Fire Lieutenant must have or obtain a current standing order certificate under Montgomery County, OH protocols within two months of appointment and become a qualified driver/operator with the Washington Township Fire Department within the first six months of employment. In addition, must obtain a State of Ohio Fire or EMS Instructor certification, obtain a Fire Safety Inspector by the State of Ohio, and pass a CPAT test within the first year of employment. Must obtain or possess a valid Ohio driver’s license by the time of appointment. Must maintain your Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable under the Township’s vehicle insurance plan.
Eligibility list will remain in effect for a minimum of one year. (Fire Chief may waive certain requirements to ensure an adequate candidate pool.) |

Selection process includes: a review of resume, cover letter and questionnaire and may include written/video tests, assessment centers, oral board and additional interviews. Candidate will be required to successfully complete a criminal background check, a driver’s license and personal background investigation. Appointment procedure will be based on the number of qualified candidates.
